McMahon Campaign Proposes Three Statewide Debates

February 3, 2012

Linda McMahon Campaign Manager Corry Bliss today sent a letter to Chris Shays Campaign Manager Matt Wylie proposing a series of three statewide debates beginning in April.

“Linda is running a positive, issue-based campaign focused on what matters most here in Connecticut: getting people back to work and putting our economy back on track,” Bliss said. “We are eager for the people of Connecticut to learn more about Linda’s proven experience as a job creator, a perspective that is desperately needed in Washington.  What we have learned from the 70 RTC chairs, 120 Republican leaders and the more than 2,100 people across the state who have endorsed Linda is that Connecticut doesn’t want more professional politicians in Washington pushing the same failed policies.”

McMahon’s campaign is the first to propose debates in the GOP Primary.

Dear Mr. Wylie,

Congratulations on a successful campaign launch. As you know, Linda has been running a positive, issue-based campaign since entering the race and looks forward to discussing the issues that matter most to hardworking Connecticut families and small business owners – jobs and the economy.

So, as we welcome the Congressman to the debate, we’d like to do just that – debate. I’ve outlined below a series of debates we are proposing across Connecticut. Hosts are simply suggestions.

• April: Norwich, Norwich Bulletin
• June: Hartford, Hartford Courant/FOX 61
• July: Stamford, News 12/Greenwich Time

I look forward to your response in the coming days.

Best,

Corry Bliss
